Superhero photo contest!!!!!

Black Hat Media photo contests are back with a vengeance! Below you can see a sample of this week's challenge; recreate a moment from a superhero movie. Below is a still that we recreated from...in case you didn't guess...Captain America, you will also see the still below that from which it was taken.  

What is the prize you may ask? An Amazon gift card!

Now the rules: it is in no way necessary to include actual logos, costumes etc...we just need to be able to tell what movie it is from. The more fancy you want to get, the more fun it can be. We happened to have the captain America mask and shield in our son's nursery so we used them. 

Photoshop is totally acceptable (as you can see below), but please do not take anything from the actual movie. This is meant to be a recreation, as much of it as you can create yourself is best, from there feel free to use stock footage and royalty free stuff if you are going to add in elements.

The photo is due one week from today, Saturday October 5th by midnight. This contest is an awesome chance to have a ton of fun, the quality of the photo doesn't matter. Take it with your high end fancy camera, or with your iphone either way is acceptable.

Lots of Newborns!

We have been lucky enough lately to have a ton of newborn and maternity shoots. Every shoot with a newborn has its own unique challenges and rewards, but it has been a very fun time for us. 

Newborn Twins!

This was a Black Hat Media first, a set of newborn twins! These two were so funny and fun to take pictures of and presented some new challenges too.

Joe and Kristen

We were able to work with Joe and Kristen from engagements all the way through their wedding reception. It was a lot of fun, and you can look through and see some of their other pictures, but here are a few of the reception held at Cactus and Tropicals in Salt Lake City.

There was a fun own theme to the whole party with little owls on every table, owls on the card holder, and even two little owls on the cake.

Bridal Fair 2013

We had a great time at this year's Bridal Fair! We worked long and hard to make a booth that would be fun and different from the other booths and fit our feel and personality. We also had help this year, which made it even more fun and we were told by some of the booths around us that we won the happiest booth award. Here are a few pics of the booth, and us having some fun during the cleanup.

The Legend of Zelda: The Birthday of all Time

This is a little outside of the norm of what we do media wise, but it was so much fun that we really wanted to share it.

This was a birthday party that my wife and I put on for my sister who loves Ocarina of time, so it is loosely based on that.  She had no idea what was in store. She slept over at our house the night before, then early the next morning the "cast" met and we told everyone what to do and where to go. She then woke up that morning to her husband coming in dressed as Navi to start her on her grand adventure, and giving her a link costume to put on.

I was able to film most of it, but there were a couple of times where I couldn't film it, such as when she had to play her ocarina, but most of the adventure is here (although at times it was tough to follow with so much action). I hope you enjoy it as much as we did!
